Signup athletes and volunteers for the mock meet
Hello GDST family!
Please go to the Mock Meet event page and indicate if your child is going to swim in the meet next Tuesday. This is super important. It makes the coach’s lives easier when setting the lineup and it makes it easier for administrators to create heat sheets. Not declaring your child for a meet will put them at risk of not being able to swim in official meets. On the flip side, if you indicate they will swim and something changes, it’s super important to ‘undeclare’ so coaches know that the swimmer isn’t available for a relay or main events.
You can indicate your swimmer’s intentions by clicking on the Meets and Events tab, then clicking on the event (June 7th, Mock Meet and Team Photos). On the next page you’ll see a Meet Entry option. Click and select the option to say your child is attending. We need to know if your child is swimming or not by Sunday evening. This gives the coaches time on Monday to work on the lineup. If you need help with this, please let us know!
Also on the Event page, there’s a Job Signup button. Please click that and sign up for a volunteer role. We need 5 more place judges and 3 more timers. These are great roles for first year swim families to fill. They are relatively easy and we’ll show you the ropes. Timers and place judge roles are also split up into half meet shifts. So the more volunteers we have, the less any one person has to do.
Arrive at the pool by 5 pm. 5:30 pm was mentioned at the parents meeting, but after listening to feedback from past years, we determined 5 pm is going to work better. This will give us enough time to take photos and warm up before the meet.
As per tradition, we’re planning on heading up to Aversboro Restaurant after the mock meet. We’d love to see you there! We’ve given them a heads up so they’re ready for our crew.
