Garner Dolphins update - banquet change date and next week info
Hello GDST nation!
There will be no practice on Monday, due to the 4th of July holiday.
Due to election primaries being held on Tuesday, July 26th, we have to move the date of the end of season banquet. We’re working on securing Friday, July 29th.
For the next meet against Brighton Forest we’ll be using the same timing system that Kildaire provided, so we need 6 total timers and 1 place judge. We also still have openings for 2 clerk of course and 1 ribbon writer. If you’re able to help, please sign up as it helps with planning and making it a great experience for the kids.
Brighton Forest would like to do a coaches and parents relay. If you can swim a 50 (2 laps) and want to participate, bring your swimsuit on Tuesday and let us know!
The address is 2625 Brighton Forest Drive, Apex, NC 27539. Please have your swimmers there by 5 pm. Warm ups will start around 5:30.
Some additional information their TSA rep shared with us:
Parking: We have VERY limited parking and VERY narrow streets. We highly encourage carpooling as much as possible please. Limited parking will be available in the pool parking lot, dirt/grass lot next to the pool parking lot, around the outer perimeter of the traffic circle on Brighton Forest and then on the streets off of the traffic circle. Please be respectful of folks' lawn and stay off their grass, but park as close to the edge of the road as possible and only park on the right side of the street. (Parking during swim meets is our neighborhood’s biggest concern with swim team regarding folks accidentally parking on neighbor’s grass during swim meets, so please encourage your team to help us remain in good standing with our neighborhood.) We will have volunteers helping to direct parking.
Set-up on the Deck: Please have your team set up on the Right Side of the deck as you enter the pool near the Slide. Our deck is not huge. Feel free to bring chairs as space permits. Unfortunately at this time we are not allowed to have tailgate tents/canopies on the pool deck.
Concessions: we will have pizza, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, chips, candy, soda and water for sale. Cash only.
