Greetings GDST Families!
The Garner Dolphins Board is in full swing preparing for the upcoming summer swim season. We are excited to continue the annual tradition and wanted to take a moment to update you on some of the latest steps we are taking to help make a great summer swim season!
Registration is Open!
Sign up your swimmers! Go to garnerdolphins.com to register your swimmers for the 2023 season. Dues begin at $85 for the first child and $80 for each additional child. One swim cap is included with your registration. *Swimmer(s) must have a family membership at the Heather Hills swim club. Register for a Heather Hills membership here.
Coaching update
We’re very excited to announce that Head Coach, Julie Sheleheda and Assistant Coach, Jessica Harker, are returning to lead the Garner Dolphins this upcoming season! Check out their bios here. We’re fortunate to have two talented and passionate coaches to lead our summer swim team and look forward to a great season with Coach Julie and Coach Jessica at the helm. Be on the lookout for announcements from Coach Julie as we approach the start of the season.
TSA update
We’re grateful to have two new TSA representatives for the team this season. TSA reps meet throughout the year to discuss rules and regulations, administer the schedule, coordinate meet logistics with opposing teams, and plan for upcoming seasons. They also officiate meets and ensure TSA rules and guidelines are followed. Any disputes are solved by the two TSA Reps on deck. Please join us in thanking Jonathan Hopewell and Shannon Bennett for taking on this important role for the team!
Swim Meet Schedule
Review the swim meet schedule located on the right sidebar of garnerdolphins.com and block your calendars accordingly. Practice will officially begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day (5/30/23). The end of season banquet is scheduled for Monday, 7/24/23.
Volunteers Needed
We have two open positions on the swim team board: Treasurer and Volunteer Coordinator. We also need at least two volunteers for Stroke and Turn Judge and two for Starter. Please respond to this message if you are interested.
Team swim suits
Team suits should be purchased at All American swim in Cary. Suits should be black and team logos will be added upon request. Please get your swimmers’ suits prior to the mock meet (6/6/23).

Maintenance Days: We are asking GDST Moms, Dads and Guardians to come out and support the Heather Hills board on maintenance days at the pool. Keep an eye out for these announcements and come out and support our home!

Team Photos: We are working on securing a photographer and date for team photos. Last year we did this at the mock meet. We’re considering doing that again this year. The mock meet is scheduled for 6/6/23. Keep an eye out for an official announcement.
