plans for Garner - Arbor Creek meet
For tomorrow’s meet, TSA reps from both teams will discuss postponing if the weather isn't cooperating. They will not make a call on that prior to 5 pm. If there’s no thunder or lightning the meet will go on. Bring some umbrellas/rain gear along with your Hawaiian shirts, and plan on your athletes making some waves!
Warm up is at 5 pm. Please get your kids to the pool at 4:45 pm to get checked in. It would be a big help if you write your child’s swimtopia number on their arm (with a sharpie) prior to arrival. A list of swimtopia numbers can be found on the event page for this meet and is attached to this message.
Volunteers, check in with Jake under the shelter once you arrive. We need one Order of Finish Judge and at least one more timer in order to run the meet.
For those setting up for the meet tomorrow, please do not use the impact drill to secure the blocks and flags. Hand ratchet or a standard drill only.
Athletes should stay with their team as much as possible during the meet. This builds camaraderie and helps Kids Pushers get them to the Clerk of Course. We’ll have a few pop up tents in the grassy area next to the shelter for the designated athlete area.
The first two tables under the shelter will be used staging area to get everything ready to run the meet (clipboards, printouts, volunteer vests).
Concession from Old Bones BBQ will be served under the shelter as well.
Our Meet Admins are planning on using the two picnic tables outside the shelter area.
Check in will be at the round picnic table in front of the shelter.
We'll attach the heat sheet to the event page a few hours prior to the meet tomorrow, so families can view the PDF from their mobile devices.
Spectators, stay behind the yellow ropes so our starter, coaches, stroke & turn judge, and timers (for 6 and under) can do what they need to do to manage a successful meet.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
See you at the pool!
